Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Cleaver App ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Cleaver (the "Service") and our website at https://cleaverapp.com.
1. Information We Collect
- Account and contact information — name, business name, email, phone number, and login credentials.
- Billing information — your subscription plan and payment status. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Business and operational data ("Customer Data") — the information your shop enters, such as animals, suppliers, customers, cut sheets, inventory, sales, and compliance logs.
- Usage and device data — log data, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see the Cookies section below.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- process payments and manage subscriptions;
- authenticate users and secure accounts;
- provide customer support and send service and transactional messages;
- detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and
- comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with service providers ("sub-processors") who help us operate the Service, including:
- Amazon Web Services — cloud hosting and database (United States).
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Cloudflare — DNS, content delivery, and security.
- Amazon SES — transactional email delivery.
- Google Analytics — website usage analytics (marketing site).
We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
4. Payments
Payment card details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS security standards. We receive limited billing metadata (such as status, card last-four, and plan), not full card numbers.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and Customer Data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After termination, we may retain data for a limited period (typically 30 days) to allow export, then delete or anonymize it, except where longer retention is required by law.
6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption in transit, per-tenant database isolation, access controls, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. For Customer Data, the shop using the Service is the data controller, and its end users should direct requests to that shop.
8. Cookies and Analytics
Our marketing site uses cookies and Google Analytics to understand traffic and improve content. The application uses cookies necessary for login and session security. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling essential cookies may prevent the app from working.
9. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Data Location
Data is hosted in the United States on Amazon Web Services. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you consent to processing of your information in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice.
