Carcass

A single animal as it enters your shop — pre- or post-slaughter, on the rail or on the hook. Every downstream record (cut sheet, pack, stock lot, SO, compliance entry) ties back to a carcass for recall traceability.

Cut sheet

A customer’s instructions for how their animal should be broken down — cut types, thickness, package size, special instructions. Cleaver uses the cut sheet to drive the breakdown workflow and to generate the customer’s sale order at pickup.

Pack

A single weighed, labelled package destined for a customer (custom side) or the case (retail side). Each pack creates a stock.lot record in inventory and a barcode-printed label.

Bulk batch

A shop-owned carcass’s worth of cuts grouped together — Ribeye, Ground, Trim, etc. Bulk-batch cuts go to in-house inventory rather than to a specific customer’s packs.

Cut & Wrap

The per-weight processing fee charged on custom-processed carcasses. Default $2.75/lb (or /kg, per your shop’s weight unit). Set on the CLEAVER_CUT_WRAP service product.

Kill Fee

Flat per-animal fee when YOUR shop killed the animal on-site. Default $50. Added automatically to the first sale order generated for that animal.

Hanging weight

Post-slaughter, on-rail carcass weight. The standard basis for Cut & Wrap billing.

Live weight

Pre-slaughter animal weight. Used for yield % calculation and (optionally) as a Cut & Wrap basis if hanging weight isn’t recorded.

Yield

Packaged weight ÷ carcass weight, expressed as a percentage. Cleaver computes it automatically from the packs created against the carcass.

Recall trail

The chain of records that lets you, an inspector, or an auditor walk from any pack backwards to its source carcass — and forwards to every customer who received product from that carcass. Cleaver maintains the chain automatically as long as deletions go through the standard guards (see User permissions).

Inventory Administrator

The Odoo role that maps to “shop manager” in Cleaver — can override the counter-staff deletion guards (with audit messages) and reach the more sensitive settings.

Stock lot

Odoo’s term for a uniquely-tracked package of inventory. Cleaver creates one stock.lot per pack and one per bulk-batch line, both pointing back to their source carcass.
